Welcome to Draconis Class
Years 4 and 5
Draconis class is made up of Year 4 and Year 5 children. In Draconis, we understand that we are all on learning journeys, interwoven with each other, navigating new challenges together and broadening our understanding of the world around us. We believe that an enquiring mind is invaluable in the classroom and in life, as it allows us to continue to discover and understand the fascinating, yet complex world we live in. With this in mind, we strive to create a stimulating and engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to explore, investigate, and think critically. We focus on using questioning and discussion to nourish the children’s curiosity and stimulate their inquisitiveness.
In Draconis, we also foster a culture of open-mindedness, where everyone is encouraged to express their ideas and opinions. We celebrate that each of us is unique and an integral member of our class. We understand the value of contributing and collaborating our ideas, as well as supporting each other to persevere, reach our highest potential and strive for excellence. We work together to create an environment of trust and respect, where it is safe to take risks and learn from each other as one big team. We understand that mistakes are part of our learning journey and we advocate the value of keeping a growth mindset when experiencing challenges. When we persevere and achieve our goals, we are proud and celebrate each of our accomplishments!
