Outdoor Learning ๐Ÿชต๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ

We all look forward to our outdoor learning afternoon every half term with Lisa. There are so many benefits to this time, spending it in nature can help our mental health by improving mood, confidence and wellbeing.ย โ€œIf children donโ€™t grow up knowing about nature and appreciating it, they will not understand it. And if they donโ€™t understand it, they wonโ€™t protect it. And if they donโ€™t protect it, who will?โ€ย Sir David Attenborough. Combining important lessons with memorable experiences outside the classroom can help to deepen learning experiences, as well as children’s connection to and love of the natural world. It also promotes both freedom and independence. This term we enjoyed making hawthorn leather, leaf stars, a class Mandela and leaf print tiles. The Autumn activities linked so well with our art pathway- Explore and Draw which has focused on us being explorers of our local environment.ย
