Pyxis class is learning all about toys throughout history, how toys have changed, what is the same or similar and what is different, what materials were used to make toys in the past and how this has changed.

As part of this we had a visit from the South West History museum and they brought lots of toys from the past for us to investigate and play with.

We played with a ‘Zoetrope’ which was amazing to watch, china dolls, old bears stuffed with sawdust, a toy mangle, spinning tops, a Victorian hoop and hook and wooden building blocks. It was lots of fun and we learned so much about toys from the past.

We are also writing our own non-fiction book all about toys throughout history!
