Draconis have thoroughly enjoyed exploring their local history this term by exploring the fascinating history of Glastonbury Abbey. The children have travelled through time, identifying significant events and figures in the Abbey, and working across the term to piece their learning together to construct a timeline. They enjoyed learning about how the mystical legends of Joseph of Arimathea and King Arthur and Guinevere are woven into the Abbey’s history, as well as King Henry VIII’s dissolution of the Abbey and what this meant for the last abbot, Richard Whiting. We are all so excited to see the Abbey up close in our upcoming visit!
