To kickstart our Properties of Materials Unit in Science this term, Draconis class spent the afternoon investigating and classifying a range of day-to-day materials based on whether they had the properties of being an electrical conductor, magnetic or transparent. We also explored and discussed the typical properties of materials we use or see everyday, including wood, glass and plastics, and experimented with how iron fillings react to magnets. The children were particularly excited when any of the materials completed their circuits and lit their lightbulbs up! Super Scientific working Draconis!
