Cognition and learning difficulties refer to challenges that affect a child’s ability to process, understand, and retain information. These difficulties can encompass a wide range of issues, such as difficulties with attention, memory, executive functioning, language processing, and problem-solving skills.
Children with these challenges may struggle with academic tasks, including reading, writing, mathematics, and organisation. They may require additional support, such as specialised instruction, accommodations, and assistive technologies, to optimise their learning.
At Meare Village Primary School, learning interventions, such as small group or one-to-one sessions, are organised to support children with cognition and learning difficulties.
