On Monday, Draconis returned from Assembly to find the class covered in posters sent by Queen Sychorax (from our focus text of The Wizards of Once by Cressida Cowell) banning all magic in the Iron Warrior Empire. In order to begin to write a newspaper report about the posters arriving in English, the children had to come up with some magical Newspaper names, as well as establish the 5 Ws of the posters’ arrival. The children worked fantastically in groups to come up with some paper names, explore the 5 Ws of other headings and investigate what happened. We are very excited to see how their papers turn out and what other magical events may take place in the classroom! So far in Sentence Stacking, the children have showcased an excellent understanding of descriptive language and puns.
