Last week Pegasus class enjoined taking part in a Victorian school workshop. They role played what it would have been like to be a Victorian classroom, practiced handwriting, looked at photos and artefacts and sewed patterns. They followed this up by having a discussion about what school was like for their grandparents, sharing the memories they had collected at home.

We wrote on a slate and had to line up in separate lines. The teacher would check if our hands were clean and if were were naughty we would have been slapped on the knuckles with a cane – Winnie
